Co-Head Coaches - BOYS

Jeff Schumacher: jeffrey_schumacher@bismarckschools.org

Jeff is originally from Bismarck and graduated from Bismarck High School after which he attended Bismarck State College and UND where he earned All-American status four times in wrestling. Jeff is also a member of the North Dakota Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Jeff began his coaching career at BSC in 1988 until 1993 and was awarded National Coach of the year in 1992. Following his stay at BSC, Jeff coached at Minot High for three seasons and was also the head coach at UND for the 1993-1994 season. Since 1997, Jeff has been coaching and teaching Tech Ed for BPS.

Jeff and his wife Doreen have two children, Joe and Rachel.

Mark Lardy: mark_lardy@bismarckschools.org

Mark has been part of the Demon coaching staff since 2002 while serving as the Wachter Middle School wrestling coach from 2002 until 2014. During this time,he also volunteered as an assistant at BHS.

Prior to coaching in Bismarck, Mark was the assistant coach in Mandan for two years then served as head wrestling coach at Oakes High School from 1999 to 2002, leading the Tornadoes to a State Championship in the state dual meet and runners-up in the individual tournament in 2000.

Mark is currently the Dean of Students at Bismarck High.

Mark and his wife Susan have four children, Abby, Carson, Cole and Cade.

Assistant Coaches

Dallas Heid: dallas_heid@bismarckschools.org

Dallas has been an assistant coach for BHS since 2014. Prior to Bismarck High he spent seven years coaching at the University of Mary. Dallas also spent the 2007-2008 season as an assistant coach for Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoeniz, AZ. A native of Center, ND, Heid was a high school state champion for the Wildcats and an NAIA All-American for the University of Mary.

Dallas is a Special Educator at Wachter Middle School.

Dallas and his wife LeAnn have two children, Avery and Teagan

Scott Owens

Scott graduated from Devils Lake in 1996 where he was a two time State Champion. Scott also was a two time Cadet National Champion and a three time Junior National Champion. After high school he went on to wrestle at the University of Mary where he was a two time national runner-up.

Scott is currently the manager of I-94 Exxon.

Scott and his wife Laura have five children, Emma, Bridger, Isabella, Lily and Macy

Chad Renner

Chad is originally from Bismarck and graduated from Bismarck High school after which he attended Oregon State University and was an All-American his junior year. Chad is also a member of the North Dakota Wrestling hall of Fame, North Dakota Mr. Wrestler in 1991, a junior national freestyle champion, and took 5th in the world team trials in 1997. Chad coached D1 wrestling at Georgia State University and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

Chad moved back to North Dakota and has worked at Vaaler Insurance since 2003.

He is married to Jayme Renner and has twins, Kaden and Kenadi.

Moses Timali

Coach Mo competed in wrestling and football in high school where he was part of multiple state team titles. He graduated from BHS in 2005 and earned a football scholarship from UMary where he played for one year. Then he spent a year at the University of Utah on a football scholarship. Moses went on to Weber State University for 3 years on another scholarship. He graduated in 2011 from WSA with a B.S. in Technical Sales and Marketing. Coach Mo moved back to Bismarck in 2013. After 3 years working for McQuade Distributing, he went into education and is employed with BPS. This is his fourth year coaching wrestling.

He loves teaching and coaching, has an amazing woman and a bulldog.

Curt Haux: curt_haux@bismarckschools.org

Curt graduated from Bismarck High in 1980 where he was the 145lb. Class A State Champion. He then attended Bismarck State College and Minot State University wrestling for both schools. He qualified for National all but one year (broken arm).

Curt teaches Physical Education and coaches wrestling at Wachter Middle School, assisting at BHS in January and February.

Mike Crouse: michael_crouse@bismarckschools.org

Mike is originally from Mandan, wrestling for Mandan High before enrolling at the University of North Dakota. At UND he wrestled and played football. He was a 3 year starting guard and member of the National Championship football squad his senior year.

Mike has been teaching Tech Ed at Wachter Middle School, coaching wrestling and football since 2003.

Mike and his wife Shanna have two children, Garen and Jonas.
