Introduction

Bishop Crooks AI is a music and visual storytelling project created and creatively written and directed by Nathan Jamaiah Francis AKA Bishop Crooks. Rooted in hip-hop, with soulful melodies, spoken dialogue and cinematic production, it brings personal experiences and imagined lives into a connected world of concept albums. Its stories explore faith, trauma, love, identity, grief and the responsibilities that come with surviving.

AI forms part of the creative process across vocals, production and artwork. Bishop writes the lyrics, concepts, develops and revises the material, selects the performances and shapes each album’s direction. 

The name Bishop Crooks AI makes that approach transparent and identifies this catalogue separately from his human made music released as Bishop Crooks.

His writing draws on lived experience, observation and fiction. Personal reflections sit alongside character studies and both internal and external conversations, allowing the music to explore experiences beyond a single narrator. A character can be loving and guarded, faithful and doubtful, grateful to be alive and still struggling with what happened. Those contradictions give the stories room to develop without forcing every song towards an easy resolution.

Each album approaches that world from a different perspective. Concrete Psalms looks towards the environments, relationships and early experiences that shape a person. The Nervous Sublime explores inner pressure and emotional contradiction. The Burden of Light considers purpose, responsibility and what comes after survival. Resurrection brings mortality, marriage, healing and second chances into focus, asking what it means to return to life with a changed understanding of its value.

The visual world extends that storytelling. Recurring figures, including Miss Crooks (The visual representation of the AI vocalist based on Bishop Crooks’ likeness) and Blue appear in changing settings. Every cover for each album is approached as a moment from its own film. 

Listeners can begin with a single track or follow an album from beginning to end, hearing how its characters, questions and emotional themes connect. 

Throughout the project, the music returns to the value of being present with the people we love, with the truths we find difficult, and with the time we still have.
