Birth Log Privacy Policy

Your birth logs are never collected, viewed, or stored by me.
There are zero ads or ad trackers.
Your data is never sold or monetized.
There are no unnecessary app permissions.

Your Birth Logs:
Everything you enter in Birth Log (dates, times, locations, weights, delivery details, complications, APGAR scores, GTPAL, and notes) is stored only on your device. It is never uploaded anywhere. I run no servers and have no access to any of it. If you delete the app, your logs are deleted with it, so please back up your device if you want to keep them.

Not a Medical Tool:
Birth Log is a personal note-keeping app for birth professionals. It is meant for personal use, such as keeping your own record of the births you have attended, tracking your career, and looking back on your experience.

It is not a medical device, an electronic health record, or a clinical charting system.
It does not replace your employer's or facility's official documentation.
Nothing in the app, including its statistics and charts, is medical advice. Do not use it to make or support diagnosis, treatment, or any other clinical decision.
Statistics are simple summaries of what you entered. They are not verified and may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Birth Log is not a HIPAA-covered service.
Please do not enter anything that could identify a patient, such as names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, or contact details.
Keep every entry de-identified, including notes. You are responsible for following your employer's policies and the privacy laws that apply to you.

Data Collection:
The app collects a small amount of anonymized data to support purchases. None of it is linked to your identity, used for tracking, sold, or used for advertising. None of it includes the contents of your birth logs.

In-App Purchases: Anonymous purchase history, used to unlock features you've paid for, restore purchases, and measure sales.
Usage Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated statistics about purchase screens, such as when a paywall is shown and whether a purchase is started or completed, via Superwall and RevenueCat. This is used only to improve the app.
Device ID and IP Address: An anonymous, app-specific device identifier (never your name or Apple Account) is used by the purchase services above to restore purchases and count usage. Like any online service, they also receive your IP address when the app connects. Not linked to your identity and not used for tracking.

Optional Features:

Location: If you tap the location button while logging a birth, the app asks for permission to use your location once. It uses it to suggest your current address and nearby hospitals or birth centers through Apple Maps. Your location is used only at that moment, on your device, to fill in the location field. It is never sent to me, never tracked in the background, and never shared with the purchase services. If you decline, you can type the location yourself, and the rest of the app works the same.
PDF Export: You can create a PDF summary of your statistics with a name you enter. The PDF is made on your device and only goes where you choose to share it. The name you enter is kept on your device so it can be filled in next time.
App Settings: A few small settings (such as whether you have purchased Pro and whether the app may ask for a rating) are kept in your private iCloud account, controlled by your Apple Account, so they carry over between your devices. Your birth logs are not included. I have no access to it.
Contacting Me: If you email me from the app, I receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. I use it only to reply.

Data Sharing:
Anonymous data is shared with the following trusted third-party services to provide purchases. None of the data is linked to your identity or used for tracking purposes, and none of it includes your birth logs. You can review their privacy policies for more details.

RevenueCat: Processes anonymous purchase history to manage subscriptions and restore purchases. RevenueCat Privacy Policy

Apple: Apple Maps processes location lookups when you use the location button, and iCloud stores your app settings in your private account. Apple Privacy Policy

Data Retention and Deletion:
I run no servers and retain none of your content. Anonymous purchase and usage records are retained by the services above per their policies. Everything stored on your device is yours. Delete individual logs any time, or use "Reset App" in Settings to erase all logs from your device.
