Start out by cutting out your pendant pieces. Mine are about 10 inches across the top and 12 inches on the 2 long sides. You will need 2 triangles for each pendant. I did 20 of them. One for each letter of Happy Birthday with one in the center that is blank to separate the words and an exclamation mark at the end. You should note that my banner is very long. Probably about 10-15 feet long. If you want yours shorter, size down the pendant pieces a little.

this is so great! I have never had a banner! I am going to make one soon, but more importantly, I want a Sillouette! I am watching the youtube video about it now. I may have to get one. Keep your fingers crossed. ?

The yardage listed is based on the project pictured in this post, which includes 15 larger banners and 5 smaller banners. Yardage will vary based on how many banners and what size you choose for your own designs. This can also be a fun scrap buster where you can mix and match colors as desired.

Yes, you get to choose the message for the product. It could be a happy birthday banner, but there are models available for other occasions, such as promotion or retirement. It helps to keep the banner text to no more than six words, so the font will be large enough to be noticeable.

The free shipping option takes three to five business days in the United States. You can speed things up by using Priority shipping, which costs $11.99, but the banner will still need two to three business days to arrive.

I am a person who LOVES celebrating birthdays. I just love having something to look forward to, and I really enjoy making the people I cherish most feel special and recognized. When my kids were little I got a cheap happy birthday banner at Target. Every year the night before someone's birthday I would string it up with balloons so that when they came down the stairs in the morning it's the first thing they would see!

The birthday banner and balloons has definitely become one of our kids favorite traditions! With four young kids though the banner that I bought way back when bit the dust a long time ago! After replacing it a few times now, I finally decided it was time to make my own DIY happy birthday banner!

I have found that painting chip board can be super difficult and time consuming. I decided that I wanted to cover my banner in permanent vinyl instead. I was worried about matching the letters exactly if I applied it after the chipboard was cut, so I applied the vinyl to the chipboard before I made the letter cuts. It worked like a dream!

If you make this birthday banner, make sure to leave us a comment and positive review. They mean a lot to us! We'd also love if you'd share a photo and tag us on instagram @prettyprovidenceblog!

This banner is already divided by page. What you will do is open the link and it will send you a PDF. Click print and make sure you have at least 6 pages loaded. Make sure you keep them in order! I like to line them up on the ground and tape them as they are all laid out as opposed to one by one.

For the happy birthday banner, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut simple letter pennants out of black cardstock. My friend is not a girly-girl, so I kept it simple with black paper, cutouts and twine. You could go a lot of different directions with this though! You could use printed paper, or you could back the pennants with colored paper to make the letters stand out more. Use colored string or yarn to hang the pennants. Finish with tassels on the ends. So many ways to personalize this!

Step back and inspect your creation! Do you need to trim the yarn or ribbon? Iron out any wrinkles in the fabric? Be careful not to iron over the vinyl it will warp. Want to add more felt flowers now is the time. Time to hang up and enjoy your felt flower banner! Job well done!

Beautiful! And so much more practical than what I made my son for his first birthday. A crown. Which stayed on his head for .5 seconds! High chair banner is so much smarter! Thanks for linking up at Saucy Saturdays.

Whether you decide to throw a Rainbow Party or some other far inferior type of party for your kiddo, this super simple banner can be a really easy and inexpensive addition to your decor. I think this whole banner cost less than $7. It would have been even less if I had used only two or three colors and bought felt by the 1/4 yard using coupons instead of small pieces of craft felt.

I then drew my letters free hand on a piece of white felt with my sharpie. I used a ruler to keep them all around three inches tall. To keep you from having outlines of sharpie on your banner, you can either draw the letters backwards and flip, or do your best to cut right inside the lines, and then just give the felt a little hair cut to get off the rest of the marker.

You will need 13 pieces for each letter of your banner if you're spelling out Happy Birthday. If you'd like to customize it with someone's name, make enough sheets to have one sheet for each letter in the name.
