WELCOME !
Looking for one or more photohides for bird photography in The Gambia?
Then you are exactly at the right address!!
Burama Keita is a birdwatching guide of The Gambia. Together with the support of a Belgian friend he has initiated a bird photography project.
Right now (September 2024) Burama has established 5 different hides, all over the country. There is one hide near the coast, 3 hides further up country on the South Bank of the Gambia river and 1 new hide on the North Bank.
As water is scarce during the dry season (from November up to June) birds are eagerly visiting the sites where water is available. All the photo hides have a small water pool, so that works as a magnet for birds. Local people are responsible for the water supply.
If you want to visit one of the hides, please contact Burama (see 'Contact'). When you made a booking, we will pick you up and escort you to the hides.
All pictures below are taken (and likewise copyrighted) by Herman van der Hart from those hides. Enjoy!
