- What is an AGM?
This is the formal meeting of the association, where the committee members report back to their members about the activities they’ve run throughout the year, and where the election of the new committee happens. As the name suggests, AGMs are held once a year, which means the timing for future AGM's will mainly be determined by when the last meeting happened.
- What’s the difference between a member and a committee member?
It is easy to confuse committee members with members of the association. Both will be defined in the PTA constitution. Typically, members of a PTA are all parents and teachers at the school. Inclusion is automatic. Committee members are elected by the members of the association to represent them and run the association on their behalf for the next year.
- What are the PTA Committee members roles?
We have a Chair who will run meetings and fundraisers. Vice Chair who assists the Chair in carrying out her duties. A Secretary that takes care of all the administrative duties and the Treasurer who will take care of the monetary duties.
- Where can I Contact the Committee members?
The best place to contact us is at our email address,birdlipschoolpta@gmail.com
- What can I do to help?
There are so many different ways to help the PTA. Even if you can't physically be there for fundraisers there is always something you can do to help. We hope to have as many people helping as possible so we don't have our members feel over burdened. There are administrative things you can do including creating posters or even just going to buy a few things (which will be refunded). The best way to find out how you can help is to ask one of our members or attend a PTA meeting (all are very welcome)
