I started birding with a camera in 2019 before I ever got my first pair of binoculars! I've always found capturing the natural world fascinating and enthralling, sometimes consuming all of my time and energy! Nowadays, with our busy lives I try to be intentional with my time, and now I'm able to take great photos without spending hours in the field. My goal is to help others achieve their bird photography goals no matter what their circumstances.
Finding out about birds changed my life in massive ways. I'm currently pursuing my master's in biology. It led me to working in tidal marsh bird research, exploring saltmarshes across New York, Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx . I'm currently working on the analysis. I also work full time in marketing analytics, using similar tools and analyses.
Crafting my birding skills has improved my photography in so many ways. Being able to listen for birds, and identify them from far away is such a game changer, and something I can help you with. My type of photography has always been I've always been 'opportunistic'-- I prefer capturing wildlife that is around me, rather than going after a particular bird. It has helped me capture really great images no matter what I'm doing! Whether going for a walk on my lunch break, birding on a family vacation, or simply out and about. If this type of photography speaks to you then let's chat!
