As the global population continues to grow, it has become increasingly urgent to enhance the productivity and quality of food producers, ensure food security, and achieve sustainable income through agriculture. In response to these pressing challenges, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development Sarawak and National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan, hosted the 1st International Conference on BioSFE 2023 from September 25 to 27, 2023, concurrently with the Sarawak AgroFest 2023.
To actively promote Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy and strengthen academic exchange and cooperation with Southeast Asian countries, National Chiayi University has brought together five departments from the College of Life Sciences and two departments from the College of Agriculture. In partnership with the Taiwan Bio-Industry Organization and Universiti Teknologi MARA, the university will host the 2nd International Conference on BioSFE 2025.
At this pivotal moment of profound transformation in global agriculture—driven not only by climate change, resource depletion, and population growth, but also by global political, economic, and security dynamics—the need for action is more urgent than ever. In addition to continuing discussions on biotechnology, smart agriculture, entrepreneurship, and business models, the conference aims to foster academic exchange and industrial collaboration between Taiwan and Malaysia, and further extend partnerships to Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and India. By strengthening international partnerships, the conference seeks to promote agricultural transformation and mutually beneficial development across these nations.
隨著全球人口持續成長,提高糧食生產者的生產力和質量,同時確保糧食安全,並透過農業實現永續收入,變得越來越緊迫。因此,馬來西亞瑪拉工藝大學(Universiti TeknologiMARA)在砂拉越農業現代化及區域發展部(Ministry of Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development Sarawak)及臺灣國立中正大學協辦下,於2023年9月25~27日,與2023年砂拉越農業節(Sarawak AgroFest)同期舉辦第1屆BioSFE 2023國際研討會。
國立嘉義大學為積極推動新南向政策,強化東南亞國家的學術交流與合作,特別結合校內生命科學院5系所和農學院2系所,與台灣生物科技暨健康產業協會及馬來西亞瑪拉工藝大學,主辦第2屆BioSFE 2025。
在這正值全球農業處於深刻變革的關鍵時刻,除氣候變遷、自然資源枯竭、人口成長外,甚至受全球政治、經濟與安全局勢影響,使需求更加急迫。除延續研討會對生物技術、智慧農業與創業與商業模式議題之探討,更致力於促進臺灣與馬來西亞,甚至再延伸至新加坡、泰國、印尼、斯里蘭卡與印度的學術交流與產業合作,藉由強化國際夥伴關係,進而推動這些國家的農業轉型與互惠發展。
This conference brings together scientists, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry experts from Southeast Asian countries to engage in cross-national and interdisciplinary dialogue. The goal is to explore how technology can drive agricultural innovation, promote sustainable development, and leverage breakthroughs in biotechnology to increase crop yields, improve agricultural environments, and enhance food processing technologies—ultimately ensuring global food supply stability.
Furthermore, the development of smart agriculture—such as the application of artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies—is expected to enable more efficient agricultural management practices. These innovations aim to maximize resource utilization, reduce waste, and minimize environmental impact, offering effective solutions to the global challenge of food security.

此次邀集東南亞國家的科學家、企業家、政策制定者及業界專家,在跨國家、跨領域的交流下,共同探討如何以科技驅動農業創新,推動永續發展,並透過生物技術的突破,提升作物產量、改良農業環境,並強化食品加工技術,確保全球糧食供應穩定。此外,智慧農業的發展,例如人工智慧、大數據分析及物聯網技術的應用,期望帶來更高效的農業管理方式,使資源利用最大化,減少浪費並降低環境衝擊,以共同尋找解決全球糧食安全挑戰的有效途徑。
