Dr. Nisha Puthiyedth is an Assistant Professor at Thompson Rivers University (TRU), specializing in bioinformatics with a focus on feature selection. Her research aims to advance computational techniques for extracting meaningful features from complex biological data.

Dr. Puthiyedth’s academic journey includes a PhD from the University of Newcastle, Australia, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Her expertise in bioinformatics, combined with her background in machine learning, empowers her to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical applications in genomics and healthcare.

Her lab explores innovative methodologies to improve predictive models and data analysis in bioinformatics, aiming to contribute to advancements in precision medicine and disease diagnostics.
