Mariana Masteling, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan, holds bachelor's and master's degrees in bioengineering from the University of Porto. She joined the Pelvic Floor Research Group in 2016 for her master's thesis and completed her PhD in 2023. Her research focuses on quantifying the viscoelastic properties of the birth canal during labor, aiming to prevent maternal pelvic floor injuries and understand their long-term consequences.
