Dhamale Vivek Shrikrishna, B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (2017-2021)
M.Tech (Coursework)
Vivek joined the BioMedia Lab as M.Tech (Cousework) in 2023 with interests in computer vision, NLP, generative models, and deep learning applications in medical imaging. He is working on , The scarcity of labeled data in medical imaging presents a significant challenge for training segmentation models due to the time, labor, and cost involved in generating pixel-level annotations, which require specialized medical knowledge. Weakly supervised segmentation (WSS) addresses this by using partial labels, such as image-level annotations, to reduce dependency on detailed annotations. This project focuses on generating multiclass segmentation masks from image-level labels for medical imaging datasets, leveraging CAMs and foundational models for improved efficiency. Apart from academics he defines himself as a foosball enthusiast—perfecting his shots with recall and precision, accurate and always on target. [LinkedIn]
Karan Raj Bagri, B.E in Information Technology (2019-2023)
M.Tech (Coursework)
Karan joined the BioMedia Lab in the year 2023. He is working on Low Data Federated Learning for Medical Image Segmentation. This project leverages Federated Learning (FL) to collaboratively train models for detecting brain MRI abnormalities across institutions, addressing privacy constraints, data heterogeneity, and limited data availability through synthetic data generation and FL techniques tailored for low-data regimes. He is a curious engineer with a strong interest in artificial intelligence, particularly in multi-modal large language models and representation learning. [LinkedIn]
