MiData.coop Australia

We are working with the founders of the MiData.coop at ETH Zurich in Switzerland to establish the first biomedical and health data cooperative in Australia. Midata aims to empower citizens and patients by giving them not just access to, but ownership over their data, thereby seeking to overcome the quasi-feudal economy emerging around data. Data cooperatives like Mi.Data.coop are a form of 'platform cooperativism' that aim to democratise the ownership of the economy through the legal structure of the cooperative, whose common denominator internationally is that each member has one vote.
