Welcome!!
Welcome to Biology 3020- General Physiology! I am your professor, Dr. Stokes. This will be the syllabus for this course, which is a little different than what you may be used to seeing. However, this site is mobile friendly and easily accessible. There is also a PDF version available on the Canvas page for this course if you prefer the more traditional versions.
Bookmark this page or put a shortcut on the desktop of your mobile device. Please use it to find the answers to all of the things that you would normally find on the syllabus! Watch the video below for more details!
How This Course Works
This is a 16-week fully online course that begins on August 28, 2021.
The book for this course is required! Please see the Course Essentials page for information on the text.
This class is fully in person. You will be expected to attend lecture each week to get the lecture notes. However, if you are sick, you should not attend class. This is discussed at length on the Course Essentials page.
By the end of Week 1, you will be expected to have logged in to our course in Canvas, logged in to Slack, and have taken the Introduction Survey/Syllabus Quiz in Canvas.
This class is organized into one-week modules that open the Friday of the week prior at the latest.
Modules will contain Powerpoint presentations for lectures, exams, quizzes, assignments, etc. Basically, everything that is assigned or needed that week will be available.
You are responsible for turning assignments in on time in Canvas. I will do my best to make this as easy and clear as possible. Please remember to communicate and READ. THE. SYLLABUS!
