Research Areas in brief
Dr. Chittabrata Mal’s research centers on computational and systems-level analysis of complex biological data, with a strong emphasis on cancer bioinformatics and regulatory genomics. His recent work focuses on the integrative analysis of transcriptomic and microarray datasets to identify diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, investigate inflammasome signaling and immune-related genes across multiple cancer types, and elucidate miRNA–lncRNA–mRNA regulatory networks involved in disease progression. The lab is particularly interested in applying network biology, functional genomics, machine learning and pan-cancer analyses to uncover molecular mechanisms underlying cancer and other complex diseases, with the broader goal of supporting precision medicine and translational research.
