Pierangelo Veltri

Brief CV

Prof. Pierangelo Veltri is Associate Professor of Computer Science since 2002 when he co-fouded the Bioinformatics Laboratory at University "Magna Græcia" of Catanzaro.

His research interests are bio-health informatics, data management,database systems and data modelling. Specific areas of model and software development include proteomics, protein structure predictions, and miRNAs analytics.

Some of the more recent grants obtained or directed by him include (out of a 5+ million euros portfolio):

  1. PIA Calabria Region grant for “Designing an annotation system for DICOM images in oncology” (2012-2016) by the European funds via Calabria Region
  2. CCM grant for the definition of an information system able to monitor the zoonotic pressure in agricultural areas (2012-2014) by the Italian Health Ministry
  3. PON StayWell SH 2.0

He has an outstanding publication record (100+ in peer reviewed editions, H-index 18) and is chair/committee member of international conferences, including ACM (Association for Computer Machinery) and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers).
