The Biodiversity major leaves you with a well-rounded knowledge of the diversity of life on Earth.
Unlike other majors in integrative biology, this program allows flexibility in the courses you choose rather than just focusing on a narrower scope.
Biodiversity majors are required to take classes such as entomology, microbiology, botany and invertebrate morphology, with the opportunity to take others, such as ornithology and herpetology if desired. No other major allows, or requires, the ability to learn directly about flora and fauna specifically.
The program offers a well-rounded education in biological science, leaving students with heavily transferable and employable lab and field skills.
This program requires students to take a field course, which is hugely beneficial to development as a student and emerging professional – this adds a good balance of getting experience in the lab as well as in the field, which sets you up for many job types.
This major offers a capstone course that is restricted to the biodiversity majors. In this course, you will undertake real-life applications of the knowledge that you have gained.
