Gluconeogenesis Regulation

1. Pyruvate carboxylase 

• Acetyl-CoA→ allosteric activator 

• ADP inhibits 

2. Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase

• ADP inhibition

3. Fructose-1,6-biphosphatase 

• Citrate activates

• AMP inhibits

• F-2,6-BP inhibits 

The rest are basically the opposite of what happens in glycolysis. → They experience reciprocal regulation. This is because when one is active, it is in the cells best interest to have the other be inactive.
