Biology 9: Human Biology:
Welcome to Biology 9: Human Biology offered as an online lecture/
in-person lab hybrid course.
Thank you for signing up for the hybrid online course (worth 4 units). The online portion of the course starts on Tuesday January 17th with our first in class lab meeting in room Science 334.
REQUIRED COURSE MATERIALS

I look forward to exploring the science of Human Biology with you and sharing the amazing organizing principals of how the human body works. I have taught ecology at CCSF for over15 years.
Online courses:
If this is your first online class you have considered taking, please be aware that learning online requires student to be organized and be good at time management.
To get some pointers on time management for online courses view the

To succeed in this class, you will need to:
Invest at least 9 hours outside of lab per week on each weekly learning unit.
This is the same amount of time that non-online students are expected to
invest as well. This time commitment will include reading the textbook,
taking quizzes, watching videos and responding to forums and other
activities like communicating with other students and the instructor, and
working on your lab or paper assignments.
This is a hybrid online class with weekly on-campus mandatory labs. We'll be using the online learning management system called Canvas for the lecture portion of the course.
You will need to log into Canvas at least an hour a day or two to three hours every other day. Your weekly tasks and the time they require will
accumulate, so you will need to schedule and organize the time require each week. This class is not self-paced, there will be several due dates per week to keep the course moving forward and keep up with the labs. You will need to keep up with the weekly assignments and manage your time efficiently.
It is strongly recommended that you schedule your class time
onto your weekly calendar.
