Subject Integration:
Dance: Our PYP exhibition is related to our dance class because some people in our grade dances to our exhibition song. It’s also connected because we learn and dance to songs related to the media. In dance class we make movements or acting movements to match the song and have group members as well. Sometimes we also have too group up with our team members from the exhibition as well. Dance class is actually one of the classes that are very much related to the PYP exhibition, why? Because in dance class we are trying to make movements and learn about media in general, dance movements that represent media and understanding the songs we are dancing to so we can dance and understand the rhythm and dance better.
English: We can connect english with PYPx because in the PYPx day, w e will have to present what we are doing and what is our topic. And we will have to know how to present and talk fluently and smoothly. English can also help us improve our grammar for our posters connecting to PYPx. We will have to make many posters and we will have to add very good grammar and make sure there is no grammar mistakes. But we still have to learn how to write without mistakes and speak fluently.
Music: We can connect PYPX with music since we can use music to express ourselfes in many different ways. In 2 weeks we will do the opening ceremony for PYPx, and there will also be a Goo Goo Dolls song performance, and the song name is "Better Days". There will also be a main music performance which is the Dreamers song which is made by Jungkook. Everyone will be participating in the song, like singers, pianist, cellists, and much more! We've been practicing for a couple of weeks now, and we're close to perfect.
Math: We use math for our survey analysis. We learned in Grade 5 about analyzing surveys, how to calculate, etc. We used those skills after we put up posters about our Media Addiction survey (for Grade 8 & 9), we assigned Lindy to do the survey analysis. We would calculate the people the most answers, and then we put it on the blog or in a word document. Math actually came in handy for the exhibition!
Chinese: For Huang laoshi's class, his students learned new words related to media. For the words we learnt it was media, broadcast, magazine, TV (also known as television) and a few others I think I have forgotten. When we are doing his class we listen to his stories and his way of translating to us the words into Chinese, he would write it on the wall of us and he would always worry about the all things and helps us be happ when in his class
Bahasa Indonesia: For Bahasa Indonesia, we worked on the SLC connected to Bahasa. SLC is an event which students present their work by themselves to their parents. We made a poster of what media we liked. We all chose different medias such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. We explained "why" we liked the media platform. We also explained the pros and cons about that media platform.
