ABOUT ME
Hello! I am a PhD researcher in Human-Computer Interaction, exploring the ethical, social, and design dimensions of human-AI collaboration in sensitive settings such as education. I recently completed my PhD at the University of Melbourne, where my work examined the ethical challenges and social-technical implications of emerging AI technologies used for analysing student learning behaviours from a multi-stakeholder perspective.
I will soon be joining the LaLa Lab at Saarland University as a Humboldt Research Fellow, working with Prof. Tomohiro Nagashima. My future research focuses on designing tools that foster reflection and curiosity in learning.
My idealism drives my research, fueling a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful impact. This motivation is why I've relished the journey thus far and continue to find excitement in my work!
Keywords of my interests: AI in Education (AIEd), AI Ethics, Digital Ethics, User Behaviour,
EDUCATION BIO
2021-2025 PhD in Human-Computer Interaction University of Melbourne, Australia
Thesis Title: Ethics of Artificial Intelligence for Analysing Student Learning Behaviour: A Multi-Stakeholder Perspective.
This Phd project was supervised by Prof. George Buchanan, A/Prof Dana Mckay, Dr Simon Coghlan, and Prof. Wally Smith.
2018-2020 Master of Information Systems (with Distinction) University of Melbourne, Australia
2016-2017 Academic Visiting Lancaster University, United Kingdom
2012 -2016 Bachelor of Information Systems University of Science & Technology Beijing, China
I study how people interact with technology and make sense of information in their own contexts, especially in sensitive settings like education and health. I care about cultural inclusion and human-centred practice. I translate evidence into clear, actionable recommendations for ethical design, governance, and better everyday experiences.

This study investigates the ethical and sociotechnical implications of adopting AI in education (AIEd). The study employs speculative story completion, in-depth interviews, and online user experiments using visual prototypes. The findings provide empirical insights to inform human-centred, context-sensitive, and ethically aligned design and governance of AIEd.
University of Melbourne, Australia. 2023-2025
This project is conducted in collaboration with the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health and the Bowel Cancer Screening Program. It explores how collectivistic families living together in Australia, particularly those with older adults, seek health information and make decisions around bowel cancer screening. Using focus groups and in-depth interviews, this qualitative research offers insights to inform inclusive, culturally sensitive public health strategies.
This research is funded by Australia's National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). The project is supervised by Prof Shanton Chang.

This project is under Validitron SimLab, and conducted in collaboration with Austin Health. It evaluates the implementation of a hospital-wide digital patient portal. The research examines patient experiences and the effectiveness of digital health service delivery. It involves the fieldwork observation at the hospital, interviews with clinicians, and heuristic evaluation of the portal website and mobile platforms. The study provides evidence-based recommendations for improving digital health usability and patient engagement.
This project was supervised by Dr Kit Huckvale.
