After watching Episode 4 of umbrella academy, i noticed Klaus' scarf and decided to make it myself 😼 you can too with this short and simple guide! all you need to know is how to make a granny square, and do it a few times
i used a 4.5mm hook and dk wool
you will need;
Stitch markers
tapestry needle
Wool in 5 colours
neutral/beige
sage green
light yellow
dark yellow

the scarf is made up of 7 granny squares, which are sewn together with an invisible join
😸 pattern start 😸

Rnd 2- [dc 3 times, ch2]x3, dc2, and slpstch into the ch4 space made last round
Rnd 3- ch4 and dc3, [dc3, ch2, dc] in each corner around and then in the corner you started in, dc2 and slpstch into the ch4 space
Rnd 4-8 ch4, dc3, dc3 into space, then corner cluster (dc3,ch2,dc3) and repeat around, dc2 and sliptitching into the ch4 space in the last corner
IN NEUTRAL
Rnd9- ch3, dc2 in corner, then dc in each stitch and in each space. Corner clusters are replaced with dc2, ch, dc2 and into the last corner dc and then slpstch into ch3 space
For the first 8 rounds, change colours as so

Sqr 2- G, W, N, DY, G, LY, DY, W
Sqr 3- DY, G, W, G, N, LY, W, DY

Once the squares are joined together with the neutral yarn, add 5 loops of tassels to either side (in neutral) of the end granny square, one in the ch1 space (the corner) and 3 more 2 stitches apart (for a total of 16 tassels, 8 on either end)
an example made to the colours of sqr 1
weave in the ends and youre done!
if you end up making it, feel free to show it off on ravelry
