The (Winding) Road So Far...
Grew up in a tier-6 city in China and became a first-generation college student.
Double-majored in Physics and Chemistry at Bryn Mawr College, inspired by scientific giants like Einstein and Curie, and fueled by a passion to explore fundamental truths.
Eager to apply scientific thinking to real-world challenges, I pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Princeton, where I deepened my interest in computational systems, data, and human-technological interaction.
Energized by the rising wave of FinTech innovation, I left academia to join a startup as a founding member, teaming up with fellow physicists and mathematicians to apply physics-based models and machine learning to the stock market.
While the venture ultimately didn’t take off, the experience ignited my fascination with emerging technologies and their uses in buinsess world.
Joined Infineon Technologies, a leading German semiconductor firm, as a management trainee, applying my engineering background in a business context and rotating across various roles in Munich, Villach, Taipei, and Shanghai.
During this time, I found myself increasingly drawn to marketing. I started binge-reading books on marketing, consumer behavior, and decision science.
I realized all my favorite ones were written by marketing professors, and thought, “This is so cool! I want to do this too.”
So here I am... a marketing academic, doing research shaped by my experiences in engineering, AI, data, and technology, and driven by a relentless curiosity for the deeper laws that govern human behavior and market dynamics.
