Welcome to the CAMP Lab!
The Cognition, Aging, and Memory Performance (CAMP) Lab at Binghamton University is interested in HOW you remember, WHAT you remember, and the ways in which aging alters your memory.
We research this using converging methods:
1) Behavioral studies assessing different facets of memory function with a key focus on Relational Memory, your ability to bind together facets of your life and use that information in the future.
2) Eye-tracking technology to look at the interactions between attention and memory.
3) Neuroimaging to see what parts of the brain support memory and how those brain regions and their processes may be altered due to age, injury, and/or pathology.
Taken together, our goals are to improve our understanding of memory function, provide more insight into how aging and injury/pathology can alter that function, and potentially provide avenues to improve diagnosis or intervention for memory deficits.
