Privacy Policy

We only collect what the App needs to work:

Google Drive: If you enable Google Drive Backup, we access Google Drive using the drive.file permission. This lets the app create and update a single backup file ("BingeMark Backup.xlsx") in your own Google Drive. We cannot see, read, or modify any other files in your Drive.

Files you import: If you use Import, you choose a spreadsheet or CSV file from your device. We read only the title names from that file and send them to our servers to match against The Movie Database (TMDB). We do not keep the original file.

Shared content: If you share a title to BingeMark from another app, we receive the shared text solely to help open the matching title in the app.

Account information (from Google Sign-In). When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. We use this to create and secure your account. We never receive or store your Google password.

Your activity in the App. The titles you add to your wishlist, mark as watched, add to your Hall of Fame, your episode/season progress, and any feedback you send us. This is what powers your stats, levels, badges, and library.

Basic technical data. Standard server logs needed to operate and secure the service (for example, timestamps of requests). We do not collect your location, contacts, SMS, photos on your device, advertising ID, or precise device identifiers.

We do not collect payment information, and the App contains no ads.

We use your information to:

• Create and maintain your account and sign you in.

• Save and sync your library across devices.

• Generate your personal statistics, levels, badges, and streaks.

• Respond to feedback and support requests.

• Keep the service secure and working reliably.

• We use Google Drive Backup to export your library (watchlists, watched titles, ratings) as a spreadsheet and upload it to your Google Drive at your request. This is a one-way backup — deleting the file in Drive does not affect your data in the app. We use Import to search TMDB with the titles from your file and add the matches you confirm.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

The App uses trusted service providers to function. Data is shared with them only to provide the service, not for their own marketing:

• Google Sign-In and Google Drive (Google LLC) - for authentication and optional backup. 

• The Movie Database (TMDB) - for title metadata, search, and images.

• OMDb - optional source for IMDb ratings shown on detail pages.

• MongoDB Atlas - secure database that stores your account and library.

• Render - cloud hosting for our backend service.

• Resend - used only to email us your feedback, if you send any.

BingeMark's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data accessed via Google Drive (drive.file) is used only to create and maintain your backup file, and is never sold, transferred to others, or used for advertising.

Your data is stored in a secured MongoDB Atlas database. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) between the App and our servers. We restrict access to your data to what is necessary to operate the App.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:

• In the App: Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes your account and library immediately.

• On the web: visit our account-deletion page at and follow the instructions.

After deletion, your account and library data are permanently removed from our database. Backups, if any, are cycled out within 30 days.

The App is not directed to children. You must meet the minimum age required in your country to use the App. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

You can access your data in the App at any time, export your library to a spreadsheet (Profile → Export my data), and delete your account and data as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act; to exercise them, email us.

You can disconnect Google Drive anytime from Profile → Google Drive backup → Disconnect, which revokes the app's access. You can also revoke access at Google Account permissions. You can delete your account and all associated data from Profile → Settings.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide notice in the App or by email.
