Technology is beneficial to education, as it fosters the problem-solving skills, critical-thinking skills, communication skills, collaboration skills, and creativity necessary for today’s careers.
Basic abilities like keyboarding, using a mouse, and turning on and off the display and tower are necessary for students to master.
Some of the noteworthy ways I have used technology in teaching are:
SMART Board: I can teach lessons on here by writing lists and spelling words, showing video clips and pictures, and more. Students can move and slide words and pictures to learn to categorize.
iPads or tablets: There are a plethora of apps for students to reinforce skills and foster creativity. I tend to use these during centers as there usually aren't enough for the entire class.
Laptops or Computers: Students have access to the internet for conducting research, writing tales, playing games, listening to ebooks, and taking examinations or quizzes. Through Google Docs, teachers may exchange papers, spreadsheets, images, and more. The class's progress is tracked by the brain break website GoNoodle so they may receive prizes. Students also like the Class Dojo behavior control program that is available. Both students and instructors can utilize computers and laptops in a variety of ways.
Whatever further techniques I learn to improve the learning environment in my classroom!
