BIMH CELEBRATED INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA ON 21st JUNE 2021: International yoga day is about integrating body mind and soul as yoga is an ancient Indian tradition combining bodily agility with mental relaxation techniques. The purpose of yoga is to connect the individual energy with the universal energy or put another way to connect the Individual being to its source..the Supreme being. Bhagavad Gita says "yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self." Lord krishna gives another definition of yoga , Yogah Karmashu Kaushalam ". Yoga is perfectly skilled action or behaviour. The theme for the International Yoga Day 2021 is "Yoga for well being." This year theme conceived to stress on the importance of the role of yoga in the care and treatment given to Covid-19 patients during the quarantine period. ... Secretary, BIMH...
International Yoga Day:
The concept of international yoga day was proposed by the respected Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. The initiative was established in 2014 and the United Nations declared in December, 2014 that 21st June would be celebrated as International Yoga Day. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice which helps in attaining a great mind, body and soul. The word yoga has descended from Sanskrit language which refers to union. The six branches of yoga are Raja yoga, Bhakta yoga, Jnana yoga, Karma yoga, Mantra yoga and Hath yoga. Yoga helps fight stress, improve the immune system, flexibility, health and over all personality. Pranayam is a kind of yoga dealing with breathing exercise which helps us to fight corana virus. Happy Yoga Day. .. Mrs. Poorna Ramchandran..
