Overview
Improves the efficiency of railway tunnel maintenance and management
Workers’ visual inspection for railway tunnels is labor-intensive, time-consuming, leading to inefficient maintenance.
Core Competencies
Purpose
Regular tunnel inspections are currently conducted relying on workers’ visual assessments. In addition, the lack of proper history management for inspection documents makes tunnel management challenging and inefficient. To address this, BIM-based data management and standardization of maintenance tasks are necessary for efficient tunnel management.
• Data retrieval, comparison, and history tracking by each inspection item
• Systematic recording and analysis of visual inspection results (cracks, leaks, etc.)
• Intuitive history management using BIM models and attribute data
• Improved work productivity through reduced time for data retrieval and utilization
• Structuring database of regular safety inspection results, aligned with standard data sets
• Establishing a foundation for integrating and linking dispersed information
Expected Benefits
Enhancement of tunnel maintenance efficiency
Early identification of structural risk factors in tunnels
Establishing a foundation for the digital transformation of tunnel management
Decision support for tunnel maintenance
Expandable to other railway infrastructure such as bridges and tracks
