BillSplit ("we", "our", or "us") operates the BillSplit mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Personal Information: We may collect name, email, and other contact details when you sign in or share data.
Device & Usage Data: We collect app usage data, crash logs, and analytics to improve the experience.
Photos and Files: If you upload or scan receipts, we may process image data temporarily for analysis.
Third-party integrations: Google Firebase handles authentication, crash reporting, and cloud storage. Receipt images you upload or scan are sent to Google's Generative AI (Gemini) for automated data extraction. Google AdMob is used to display advertising. Expo/React Native libraries are also utilized.
Advertising
BillSplit displays ads through Google AdMob, including banner, interstitial, and rewarded ad formats. Google and its advertising partners may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads. Where required by law, we request your consent to personalized advertising through Google's User Messaging Platform before ads are shown. You can manage ad personalization through your device's privacy settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS, "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).
