Artist Statement

As an artist practicing in the field of engineering, I see beauty in the man-made environment and try to show this in my artwork and projects. In recent work, I have been creating smaller scale pieces, incorporating recycled materials to reduce my personal impact on the environment. Similarly, in my many years practicing engineering, I look for opportunities to use my creative skills to optimize a design or construction method to reduce its impact on the environment.

Where to find Bill's Work

My work is exhibited at local cafes, restaurants, and art venues. Annually, I exhibit at Fog City Java Cafe in Pacifica California and at the Friday Night events for Oakland Museum of Contemporary Art. My work is available for purchase at the exhibits or by commission.

My engineering work can be found throughout the San Francisco Bay Area including the SF Airport Interchange at Highway 101, the San Bruno BART Station, and at the Golden Gate Bridge.

During the pandemic, I have been presenting Zoom "SIP-in-Sketch" sessions hosted by Rhythmix Cultural Works in Alameda, California. SIP is Shelter-In-Place, but we encourage attendees to watch and enjoy with a beverage of their choice. More information can be found at:
