As of January 1, 2026, several new membership guidelines are being implemented within the Bill Cook Chapter.
The information below is for your reference. You can also review Chapter newsletters issued in 2025, the Winter 2026 Newsletter (mailed 1/2026) & the 2025 Annual report (mailed 2/2026)
Individual/family members wanting access to the grounds using a gate key are required to fulfill 5 work hours between January 1 – December 31 annually*
To maintain gate key access to the grounds:
Single Adult Membership – 5 Hours
Student Membership – 5 Hours
Family Membership – 10 Total Hours
Members age 75 and over – Exempt
Youth hours can count toward a Family Membership total.
Members age 75+ are welcome to volunteer but are not required to complete hours
*Exemptions include:
Members over the age of 75 that have been members for (5) consecutive years.
Members on Active Military Duty.
Other special accommodations granted by the Board of Directors (submissions addressed on a case-by-case basis.
Member work hour assessment fees are at the original proposed amounts of $50 (individual) or $100 (family).
Revised fees are based on Board of Directors vote on November 19, 2025
Work hour assessment fee of $50 or $100 WILL NOT be added to next years membership dues. Assessment fees only apply to members wanting a gate key to access the grounds.
The fee for not meeting the annual individual or family work hours applies only to grounds access (gate key privileges), not to membership dues.
Individuals and families may retain their memberships even if they do not meet their participation hours; however, grounds access (gate key privileges) will be impacted.
If a member does not want a gate key, and only chooses access to the grounds for meetings, special events (ie. Steak Night, Halloween Happenings) or Ike’s activities, that’s acceptable. In this case, they are not required to complete any work hours nor will they be required to pay the assessment fee for not completing the work hours. They will only be required to pay their annual membership dues. In turn, these members will have limited access to the grounds to attend general/board of director/committee meetings and during special events/activities. They are also prohibited from accessing the grounds as a guest of another member at any time throughout the year.
Individuals that join only to have gate key access to the grounds for gun and archery range use, hiking trail activity and other similar uses, but choose not to complete their 5 work hours throughout the calendar year will be charged the appropriate assessment fee (as listed above) for the next year. The rules apply for individual and family memberships.
Work hours can be completed by volunteering at a scheduled Chapter event/activity or working on a task(s) independently, if approved, by the committee chair prior to doing so.
It is the members responsibility to ensure their hours are recorded and submitted before the end of each year.
When volunteering at scheduled events such as the Fisheree or Gun Show; or, activities such as Pulp Cut, Clubhouse Clean-up, event chairs will have a sign-up sheet available for volunteers to sign in and out. This information will be gathered by the event/activity chair and submitted to the Work Hour Recording Chair for entry and tracking.
If members choose to complete work hours outside of club scheduled events/activities they can do so with prior approval from the appropriate committee chair.
ie: Grass cutting will need approval from the Buildings & Grounds chair; brass clean-up and target repair requires prior approval from the committee chair of the Rifle/Pistol Range
This is being done to prevent any duplication of efforts or prior approvals of another member scheduled to complete the task.
It is each members responsibility to complete and submit the required Participation Hours Tracking Form. (Form is available for printing below. Forms are also available at the clubhouse.)
Sign-in sheets will be available at all club events/activities for volunteers to record their start/end times. This information will be turned in after the event for recording, however, it is the members responsibility to verify it has been submitted and recorded.

Raffle Ticket Sales Prior to Fisheree/Jamboree – Participation Hour Credit
Members may earn one (1) participation hour toward their annual requirement for every $100 in Fisheree/Jamboree raffle tickets sold prior to the event.
Individual Membership (5-hour requirement):
Selling $500 in raffle tickets will satisfy the full 5-hour annual participation requirement.
Family Membership (10-hour requirement):
Selling $1,000 in raffle tickets will satisfy the full 10-hour annual participation requirement.
Raffle ticket sales must be completed and submitted prior to the Fisheree in order to receive participation hour credit.
Participation hours will be credited in whole-hour increments only.
For example:
$150 in raffle ticket sales = 1 hour of participation credit
$320 in raffle ticket sales = 3 hours of participation credit
**Partial hours will not be awarded.**
As we navigate these changes together, please note that while the Participation Committee and Board of Directors have given much thought to the addition of work hours for members, it’s possible that some detail has been overlooked or will not work as well as originally thought. When things like this are discovered, please make a Participation Committee member or Board Member aware. When appropriate, be sure to offer a solution to address the issue.
Thank you.
