INTRODUCTION

Welcome to BillCalc. We are committed to protecting your privacy and 

being transparent about our data practices. This Privacy Policy explains 

how we handle your information.

THE SHORT VERSION

- We collect ZERO personal data

- Everything stays on your device

- No tracking, no analytics, no ads

- No third-party services

- Your privacy is 100% protected

DETAILED PRIVACY POLICY

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We do NOT collect any information, including:

- Personal information (name, email, phone, address)

- Usage data or analytics

- Device information

- Location data

- Contact lists

- Photos or media

- Browsing history

- Any other data

2. INFORMATION STORED LOCALLY

The following information is stored ONLY on your device:

- Bills you create (items, rates, quantities, totals)

- Store details you enter (name, address, phone, footer)

- App settings (theme, sound, vibration preferences)

- Bill history

This data is:

- Stored in encrypted local database

- Never transmitted anywhere

- Never shared with anyone

- Only accessible by you through the app

- Deleted when you uninstall the app

3. PERMISSIONS REQUIRED

BillCalc requires ZERO special permissions:

- No internet permission (no data transmission)

- No location permission

- No contacts permission

- No camera or microphone permission

- No storage permission (only app-private storage)

- No phone permission

The ONLY functionality used:

- Local database (for storing bills)

- Android Print Framework (for printing)

- App preferences (for settings)

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Since we don't collect any information, we don't use it for anything. 

Your data stays on your device and is used only by you through the app.

5. SHARING & DISCLOSURE

We do NOT share your information with:

- Third parties

- Advertisers

- Analytics services

- Other apps

- Cloud services

- Anyone else

The only way your data leaves your device is if YOU choose to:

- Print a bill (sent to your selected printer)

- Share a bill as PDF (sent to your chosen app)

6. DATA SECURITY

Your data is protected by:

- Device-level encryption (if enabled on your device)

- App-private storage (other apps cannot access)

- No network transmission (no risk of interception)

- Secure Android sandbox

We recommend:

- Enable device encryption in device settings

- Use device screen lock (PIN, pattern, biometric)

- Keep your device's operating system updated

- Only install apps from trusted sources

7. DATA RETENTION

- Data persists until you manually delete it

- Clearing app data removes all bills and settings

- Uninstalling the app deletes all data permanently

- No data backups are created (unless you use device backup)

8. YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES

You have complete control over your data:

RIGHT TO ACCESS:

- All your data is visible in the app

- View bills in History screen

- View settings in Settings screen

RIGHT TO DELETE:

- Delete individual bills from History

- Clear all data: Settings > Apps > BillCalc > Clear Data

- Uninstall app to delete everything

RIGHT TO EXPORT:

- Print bills as PDF

- Share bills via any app

- No bulk export currently (coming in future update)

RIGHT TO RESTRICT:

- No data collection to restrict

- You control all data through the app

9. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We do NOT use:

- Google Analytics

- Firebase

- Crashlytics

- Ad networks

- Social media integration

- Cloud storage

- Any other third-party service

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

- Our app is suitable for all ages

- We do not knowingly collect information from anyone

- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13

- Parents can safely allow children to use BillCalc

11. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

- No data transfers occur (everything is local)

- No cross-border data movement

- No data processing in other countries

12. COOKIES & TRACKING

- We do not use cookies

- We do not use tracking pixels

- We do not use device fingerprinting

- We do not track your behavior

13. AUTOMATED DECISION MAKING

- We do not use AI or algorithms to analyze your data

- We do not make automated decisions

- All app functionality is under your direct control

14. DATA BREACH NOTIFICATION

In the unlikely event of a security incident:

- We would notify users through app update

- However, since no data is collected, there's minimal risk

- Your data remains secure on your device

15. BUSINESS TRANSFERS

- If our business is acquired, no user data would transfer

- Your data remains on your device regardless of ownership changes

16. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

- We may update this policy to reflect changes in practices or laws

- Material changes will be notified through app updates

- Last updated date shown at top

- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance

17. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA)

If you are a California resident:

- We do not sell your personal information

- We do not share personal information for cross-context advertising

- We do not collect personal information

18. EUROPEAN PRIVACY RIGHTS (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union:

- We do not process personal data

- No data controller/processor relationship exists

- GDPR compliance is inherent (no data = no privacy risk)
