I’m Bikash Adhikari, a plant research scientist working at the intersection of plant physiology, horticultural crop production, and stress biology. My research focuses on understanding how environmental and management factors influence crop growth, physiology, yield, and quality across field, greenhouse, and protected production systems. I use integrative, data-driven approaches combining crop physiology, biochemical and spectral analyses, and rigorous experimental design to identify practical solutions for improving crop resilience, productivity, and resource-use efficiency.
My current and past research spans a wide range of specialty and agronomic crops, including strawberry, watermelon, soybean, corn, cotton, lettuce, and other horticultural crops, with particular emphasis on abiotic stresses such as waterlogging, heat, drought, salinity, and nutrient-related challenges. I am especially interested in translating physiological insights into applied strategies that support sustainable production, improve fruit and crop quality, and strengthen agricultural resilience under changing environments.
