Privacy Policy — BigQuery AI

BigQuery AI ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that turns natural-language
questions into BigQuery SQL. This policy explains what data the extension
collects and how it is used.
1. What data we collect
- Dataset schema: table and column names captured from the BigQuery console
when you use the "Scan" feature. No actual row data or query results are
collected — only structural metadata (table/column names).
- Your question: the text you type into the extension's prompt box.
- Model settings: the API key, model name, and provider you optionally enter
in Settings (only if you choose to use your own, instead of the free default).
We do not collect browsing history, personal identifiers, or any data beyond
what is described above.
2. How we use this data
When you click "Send", the question, dataset schema, and your model settings
are sent over HTTPS to our backend (lastardev.com), which forwards them to an
LLM provider to generate a SQL query. The generated SQL (and a quality check
result) is returned to the extension and displayed to you. We do not use this
data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than generating the
requested SQL.
3. Data storage
- Dataset profiles (scanned schemas) and settings are stored locally in your
browser via chrome.storage.local and are not synced to any server unless
you click "Send".
- We do not persist your questions or generated SQL on our backend beyond
what is needed to process and return the response.
4. Third parties
Your question and schema may be forwarded to a third-party LLM provider
(depending on the model/provider you configure) solely to generate the SQL
response. We do not sell or share your data for any other purpose.
5. Your choices
You can delete saved dataset profiles and reset settings at any time from the
extension's Settings tab. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally
stored data.
