Parvo is seen as a scary and often deadly virus for dogs. It needn't be either.
Parvo Cocktail Recipe
Pedialyte
Utopia Silver Colloidal Silver (see notes below)
MSM
Probiotics (see notes below)
Directions:
In a large syringe (2ish tsp) a mixture of half colloidal silver (see notes below on silver because it CANNOT just be any colloidal silver) and Pedialyte mixed with 2g of MSM and a capsule of GOOD QUALITY (cannot stress this enough) REFRIGERATED probiotic.
Give this 4-6x/day.
Catching early and starting the cocktail immediately IS KEY, it is much harder once they are vomiting and having a lot of diarrhea/bloody diarrhea because then will have to give them IV fluids. Just another step on top of an already arduous process.
If they are vomiting, you have to do much smaller doses of the cocktail and much more frequently.
NOTES:
Non-refrigerated probiotics are not useful and most of the time are dead or not good strains. Raw milk is a wonderful addition between the cocktails as it is full of probiotics. If you are on the Big Island where we are, you can get from cow sanctuary here. Most of the immune system is in the gut and parvo heavily impacts the gut and intestines. PUMP IT FULL of GOOD bacteria. A strong immune system is the BEST action against any disease or illness. We make kefir and give to our dogs daily.
Colloidal silver. Not all is the same. Most stuff in stores is junk. I order mine from Utopia Silver. You want to have it on hand as it will not get here in time if you need it. It is DARK not clear like sold in stores or made at home. I'm sure there are other companies that produce quality silver, I am just not familiar enough with them to put my name on it.
There are 3 kinds of CS available.
1. chemically produced using silver nitrate: This is very large particle and usually very high ppm. High PPM is not as effective as low PPM. This is OK for very short-term applications if nothing else is available-BUT long-term use will cause Argyria (high concentrations of silver in the fatty tissue of the skin which will give your skin a blue-greyish tint….aka the blue man).
2. Ionic silver: silver ions in a water solution. Ions are not particles and do not show color (the product is clear) since they cannot reflect light.
3. Colloidal Silver: contains varying sizes of silver particles that are from a yellowish tint to dark brownish (particles reflect light-therefore showing a tea or coffee color, usually with a slight greenish undertone) depending on PPM concentration. All three are generically called "colloidal silver". Not all three are the same. And the real colloidal silver is what you need for parvo and any other illness you want to treat. For you or animals.
I also get the Nutri-Cal paste and AD Science Diet wet food (Kilauea Vet) and scoop that in their mouth if they are not vomiting. If vomiting, wait till not and then give.
Must be good quality ingredients in cocktail AND given regularly. Even regular antibiotics won’t work if not given enough or right ones etc. BUT antibiotics kill ALL good bacteria in the gut along with bad. Silver is a natural antibiotic and won’t kill good bacteria.
I advise ALWAYS having copious amounts of colloidal silver on hand for all illnesses as this gives YOU the ability to care for your pet properly without destroying his/her immune system. It also removes fear of not knowing what to do. Use if your dog is sick or showing symptoms, use it as a preventative if dog is around something you are worried about, use it on cuts (raw honey is great too), in the eyes for eye infections. It is a MUST for your medicine cabinet.
Isolation/How to Not Spread
Make sure if you have other pets in the house, to give them a syringe full of just colloidal silver to boost their immune system and help protect them from getting anything. Your infected pet(s) should be isolated far from reach. A ROBUST immune system is the best defense against getting sick from ANYTHING. Having your pet on good quality foods (see food page), giving GOOD quality probiotics (see notes above), food grade diatomaceous earth, chlorella, etc., will set up any other pets for success.
In doing foster, I actually had two puppies from one litter, and one from another litter. The one was sick from roundworms and was requiring extra care and syringe feedings. He was ALREADY compromised. I was giving him colloidal silver in his water so that each time he drank, he would just lap it up. The other two puppies went to another foster and a couple days later tested positive for parvo. My little two-pound pup NEVER had ANY parvo symptoms because of the regular colloidal silver dosing, even though he was already compromised. I firmly believe if the two pups had stayed drinking the colloidal silver water, they would have been asymptomatic as well.
Disposable painters suits (Home Depot) are great to have to put right while cleaning puppy pads and administering cocktail.
Have a spray bottle of bleach and water or spray colloidal silver anywhere you think may be needed to not track the virus anywhere else.
