Make a sketchbook with me! I use my sketchbooks almost everyday and have quite a collection now.
My favourite ones are those I have made from scratch or repurposed from old hardback books. In this workshop I will guide you through making your own sketchbook from scratch, with a sewn binding.
Using paper suitable for mixed media, you will make an A5 sketchbook which will lay flat. Choose from a range of decorative papers for your covers. It will have an open spine, which will show off your beautiful stitching! Based on a traditional binding technique with some upcycling tweaks and adaptations of my own.
All materials will be supplied - if you would like to bring some card (eg from cereal boxes) for your covers, or your own choice of decorative paper, that's great!

Each week we explore a different art style, medium or genre.
You will gain experience and confidence while filling your sketchbook with ideas you can draw on and use in your own time.
Or you may find that these sessions are an oasis of creativity in your week, where you make time for yourself.
