Day 0  6/24: Getting the right bike

 I got the bike! It's a Trek 520, purchased second-hand here in Oakland. The incredibly kind Will, who has already taught me so much about bicycle repair and cycling hit up a friend of his who sold me the bike and was very kind to throw in an Ortlieb bag (fancyyyyy!). It'll need a shorter head stem (I am short AF) and front racks and probably an overall tune up but I'm psyched and it all feels real now. Tomorrow is a chill test ride and trying to find a front rack for it. Tonight, I purchase my one way ticket.  

Day 0 7/18: Final Pack

Yesterday I stopped by a friends and did the final repair on my trip bike. I packed it up and took it on a 15 ride up to Yerba Buena Island and back the day before and had noticed the front wheel was out of true. I'm anxious rather than excited, but I'll be on that plane tomorrow.
