Hosted by Nischelle Turner of Entertainment Tonight, the special will feature archival footage and top highlights from 24 seasons of "Big Brother" as well as interviews with Chen Moonves and past winners.

Typically, "Big Brother" seasons start in June or early July, this year's August start date can be attributed to CBS planning for the writer's strike. According to the Hollywood Reporter, CBS pushed original content to later in the summer in case the Writers Guild of America strike disrupts production for scripted shows in the fall.

My wife and I started watching during "Big Brother 16," but quickly went back and watched every season. We were captivated by the strategic gameplay of some of the greats, such as Will Kirby, Dan Gheesling and Danielle Reyes, and how house dynamics drove every season's narrative.

The best "Big Brother" seasons saw power shifts nearly every week. The back and forth between the Friendship and Sovereign Six alliances in season 6 made for all-time great television. A 75-year-old wild card in Jerry MacDonald being able to win two Head of Household competitions and two Power of Vetoes in season 10 meant anything could happen.

"Big Brother 21" winner Jackson Michie dominated his way to the end, winning four Head of Household competitions and three Power of Vetoes within the last six weeks of the season. Cody Calafiore won three HOHs and three POVs between weeks 8 and 12 during "All-Stars" in season 22, on his way to winning the grand prize.

The beginning of this season was fantastic. The house was running around, strategizing all day, every day. Missing a few hours of live feeds felt like you were missing 10 years worth of game. Some of it was messy. But it was fun.

Jag Bains, who eventually won the $750,000 grand prize, set a show record with seven POV wins this season, six coming within the seventh and 14th weeks. His three HOH wins, including the final HOH comp of the season, came in weeks 11, 12 and 14.

Snot a Winner, Cock-a-Doodle Zoom and Name That Toot were real names of competitions this season. Instead of showing fascinating gameplay from the legendary Cirie Fields and others, we got 20 minutes of bodily function-themed challenges.

The show has made it to where the athletic players just have to team up to dominate to the end. No one enjoyed the NBA when we knew the Golden State Warriors were going to win it all. Knowing a comp beast will win their way to the end in "Big Brother" every season is demoralizing.

Am I just a fan venting because this season didn't play out the way I wanted? Perhaps. I'm also tired of seeing a great game turn into a watered-down, kiddie version of "The Challenge" (which I also love but is a totally different show).

Big Brother 25 will be a landmark entry for the show, which has aired a new season every summer since 2000. The 2007 WGA Writers Strike also led to one full winter season, Big Brother 9, in 2008. The show's success has led to spin-offs such as Celebrity Big Brother and Big Brother: Over the Top.

The current WGA Writers Strike will have a major impact on network television, and Big Brother is no exception. Because networks will need more unscripted content to fill their schedules, they're going to turn to reality shows to fill that time. It's already been announced that Big Brother 25 will have a later start date and a longer season, likely due to the effects of the strike.

Big Brother 25 has already revealed some details about its Time Laser twist, which was accidentally unleashed on the house by iconic former contestants Danielle Reyes, Britney Haynes, and Frankie Grande. They were trying to use the Time Laser to change the outcomes of their seasons. The twist infiltrated the entire house, but details about what it means won't be revealed until the season begins.

CBS has confirmed that the premiere of Big Brother 25 will air on August 2, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET. The premiere will be a special 90-minute episode. It's unclear when the show's live feeds will begin, but host Julie Chen Moonves has confirmed that the show will be keeping live feeds moving forward, unlike its Canadian counterpart, which scrapped live feeds for Big Brother Canada 11. If the American version maintains its live feed schedule from recent seasons, Big Brother season 25 will likely debut the live feeds on Paramount Plus the night of the premiere.

This cast has some ties to other reality television personalities. Jared is the son of four-time Survivor player and The Traitors season 1 winner, Cirie Fields. Cory is the younger brother of Zach Wurtenberger, who was a contestant on Survivor 42. In addition, some contestants will break new ground on the show. Felicia is the first woman over 60 to be a contestant. Jag is the first Sikh houseguest, while Matt is the first hearing-impaired contestant.

Big Brother 25 has already been one of the most buzzed-about seasons yet. Hopefully, this milestone season will be filled with cameos from past iconic houseguests and incredible gameplay from the new contestants. One thing is certain: everyone should always "expect the unexpected."

As a business owner, Flanigan said she was amazed at the machine working behind the Scott brothers, who had other shows in production at the same time and immediately started working on the next season of "Brother vs. Brother" as soon as their Galveston project wrapped up.

I became a Big Brother fan back in 2019, and as such, I've missed a lot of the most iconic seasons of the series. Fortunately, with my Paramount+ subscription, I've been able to slowly make my way through previous seasons and get more context on one of America's greatest game shows. Despite that slow trek, I've finally found my way to Season 16, and boy, do I have some thoughts.

Big Brother 16 is generally considered the season that changed modern Big Brother forever. I can certainly see how after watching one of the best to ever do it Derrick Levasseur play the game. Here are some other thoughts I had that I felt I needed to get off my chest before jumping into another season.

It's very clear that we're in the early years of Twitter catching on with networks during Season 16 of Big Brother due to how many hashtags pop up over the season. Literally every fight, showmance, big moment, and alliance is given a hashtag. It's a lot, and I think in hindsight, we've since learned it's not the best strategy to try and make a ton of hashtags happen at once.

These days, it seems like the online Twitter fandom will attach to a specific hashtag, while Big Brother will usually designate a single hashtag that could be as simple as the show's title. Twitter is still one of the more popular places for fans of the show when it comes to interacting, but I am glad that we don't have to deal with all of the hashtags in the modern seasons.

Additionally, I'd add that if it wasn't for big personalities like Devin, Derrick wouldn't have been able to fade into the background nearly as easily as he did. It might be a stretch to say that Derrick wouldn't have won in a season where Devin wasn't in the house, so I won't go that far. With that said, I think Devin certainly helped lead to the strongest alliance throughout a bulk of the game, and unified a bunch of people still reeling from the chaos.

This season felt really unfair to Amber, whose game suffered in part due to someone she had little to no association with in the house. Not only did Amber have to play Big Brother, but she also had to play nice around Caleb, and even that would often not be enough to keep him from getting into random tiffs with her about why they weren't dating.

Is Zach Rance in the conversation for one of the best Big Brother players of all time? I don't think so, but he is one of the most entertaining. Zach was there to make moments happen, and I'm not even sure it was done for the good of the fans. He was just bored and wanted to shake things up in the house, which is exactly the type of energy the last few seasons of Big Brother have lacked.

Donny Thompson, need I say more? I've watched enough Big Brother seasons to meet some likable older Houseguests, but he blew them all out of the water. The saddest part of this season for me was knowing that Derrick won, because I would've really wanted Donny to win it if I was watching back when it aired.

We don't know if a Legends season will ever happen, but if it does, Big Brother needs to extend an invite to Donny. Even if he ultimately decides he's not available to play, he's a great player and it's a shame he wasn't a part of the last all-stars.

One major key to Derrick's success was to create scenarios that led to the most predictable outcome. Cody was essentially able to control the entire All Stars 2 season from start to finish and ensure he was the winner at the end. Derrick doesn't deserve all the credit because he wasn't in the house, but he should get a bit of a hat tip for presumably teaching Cody that key element.

In the effort to allow as many fans as possible to attend, you may only attend one time per season.

The couple celebrated their engagement with the season's final seven, as well as a few special guests including "BB" alums Josh Martinez, Derrick Levasseur, Britney Haynes, Paul Abrahamian, and Daniele Donato.

Memphis Garrett and Christmas Abbott competed against each other on season 22, "Big Brother: All-Stars." The pair were part of an alliance in the house and had previously competed on separate seasons.

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager is having an awesome rookie season, hitting .322 with 22 home runs and on pace to score more than 100 runs. Older brother Kyle Seager of the Seattle Mariners is having a terrific season as well, on pace to hit 30 home runs and top 100 RBIs -- not that anybody is talking much about him.
