Mountain biking, gravel biking, road biking... so what is it? Most cyclists who consistantly ride on the rural highways of Washtenaw County fall in the categories of gravel and road biking. Often sporting their neon bike jerseys, it is easy to tell if a cyclist is an experienced club rider.
What is a rural highway?
A rural highway, a category of rural roads, is defined as a two-lane paved road located outside of urbanized areas, often with a 55 mph speed limit (U.S. Dept. of Transportation).
