Summer is coming!

When school is out, it’s time to celebrate and have some summertime fun! This book is perfect to welcome the summer holidays.

Learn about shapes

Shapes help children with a range of important skills, for example:

- The ability to use shapes to describe objects will greatly enhance a child’s ability to verbally communicate. For example: “round cookie” or “square window”.

- The ability to draw or create shapes.

- Sorting is a great way to develop logical thinking. Children can use shapes as a method for sorting objects. Children that can sort objects by circles, squares, triangles, ovals or rectangles.

- Pre-reading and writing skills: learning to recognize shapes is an important step on the way to learning to recognize letters. Letters contain lots of different shapes – circles, lines, parts of triangles and curves.

Drawing a circle helps children write b, d, g, p, q. Drawing a triangle helps with the letters k, v, w.

Las formas ayudan a los niños con una gama de habilidades importantes, como por ejemplo:

- La capacidad de usar formas para describir objetos mejorará en gran medida la capacidad del niño para comunicarse verbalmente. Por ejemplo: “cookie redonda” o “ventana cuadrada”.

- La capacidad de dibujar o crear formas.

- La clasificación es una excelente manera de desarrollar el pensamiento lógico. Los niños pueden usar formas como método para ordenar objetos. Pueden ordenar objetos por círculos, cuadrados, triángulos, óvalos o rectángulos...

- Habilidades previas a la lectura y la escritura: aprender a reconocer formas es un paso importante en el camino para aprender a reconocer letras. Las letras contienen muchas formas diferentes: círculos, líneas, partes de triángulos y curvas.

Dibujar un círculo ayuda a los niños a escribir b, d, g, p, q. Dibujar un triángulo ayuda con las letras k, v, w.

Sarah and Duck is a British animated children’s television series.

The series follows the adventures of Sarah, a very kind and polite girl with big eyes, rosy cheeks and a green hat, and her best friend Duck, a mallard. The central theme is the relationship between these two characters and the adventures they have together.

“Sarah y Pato” es una serie de televisión británica animada para niños.

La serie narra las aventuras de Sarah, una niña muy amable y educada con ojos grandes, mejillas sonrojadas y un gorro verde, y su mejor amigo Duck, un pato. El tema central es la relación entre estos dos personajes y las aventuras que tienen juntos.
