BIBLR — PRIVACY POLICY
Effective date: July 1, 2026
1. Data We Store on Your Device
All personal study data is stored exclusively on your device using a local database. This includes bookmarks, verse notes, highlights, word-level highlights, reading history, chapter progress, pinned chapters, verse collections, prayer journal entries, flashcards, recent searches, and saved articles. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it using the built-in backup feature. Exported backup files are saved to a location you select on your device.
2. Internet Access and External Services
The app connects to the following third-party services to retrieve Bible content and related resources. No personally identifiable information is sent to any of these services — requests contain only the book name, chapter or verse reference, and translation code needed to fetch content.
bolls.life — Bible chapter and verse text
bibleref.com — Bible cross-references
api.scripture.api.bible — Additional Bible translations
labs.bible.org — Bible text API
api.biblia.com — Bible text API
api.dictionaryapi.dev — Word definitions
4.dbt.io (Bible Brain) — Audio Bible streaming
api.esv.org — ESV audio
gotquestions.org — Bible commentary articles
Each of these services has its own privacy policy.
3. Notifications
If you enable daily reading or prayer reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. These are processed entirely on-device. No notification content or schedule is transmitted to any server.
4. No Analytics or Advertising
Biblr does not include any analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or crash reporting tools. We do not track how you use the app.
5. No Account or Registration
The app does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or location.
6. Data Deletion
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by using the "Reset Progress" option in Settings, or by clearing the app's data / uninstalling the app from your device's system settings. Uninstalling removes all locally stored study data permanently.
7. Children's Privacy
Biblr does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app does not collect personal data from any users regardless of age.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the updated effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
