You can read the Bible at many different levels and ways.
Every day, millions of Christians read a short verse or part of a chapter to find out what God has done and what God says. They apply the truth to their lives and live daily according to God's way.
We can read it from cover to cover as a complete story - history is His story. It may take a while to read it, but it's worth it. Our story is part of His story. Take a look at the video below as an introduction to reading the Bible story. Click here to view BIBLICAL THEOLOGY.
We can find the promises in the Bible and, since it is God's Word, we can trust God to keep His promises. Here are some of the promises in the Bible. We can also memorise a verse a week.
We can read a chapter or half a chapter and then answer questions about the passage. We can either do this individually or discuss the answers in a Bible study group. When we study a passage of the Bible, we can understand it in depth and apply the truths personally.
Below is a check list. You can print it out. Tick off the box when you have read and studied a chapter of the Bible. Follow the Weekly Bible reading Plan (below) and you can complete reading the whole Bible in 23 weeks.
We can translate and interpret the text from the original languages and within the theological, historical and grammatical contexts.
When we view the Bible as inerrant, we are saying that all the facts we read in the Bible are wholly true and without error, not just in the intent of the human author, but in the details, because God is a God of all the details.
