Task
The purpose of this activity is to discuss approaches that search engines can use for addressing biases in the search results. At the session, we have discussed 8 prototypes for addressing biases in search results. Instructions on how to use the prototypes:
Bias visualisation approach: 4 prototypes (Activity 1)
Results reranking approach: 4 prototypes (Activity 2)
Your task is to assess these prototypes. You will be working individually and your task is to assess the eight prototypes and consider which system you prefer to implement and how these tools influence your search tasks.
You will need to fill in the following questionnaire to discuss and evaluate the systems:
Before you start the activity, please fill in the demographics section of the questionnaire (demographics)
Please evaluate the systems and write your answers in the next sections of the questionnaire.
