Hello! I’m Bhumika Diwan, a passionate future IB educator and lifelong learner.
Currently pursuing my B.Ed. (IBEC), I believe education is not just about teaching, it’s about inspiring curiosity, empathy, and growth.
Welcome to my portfolio, a glimpse into my journey as a teacher, learner, and changemaker
I believe the curriculum should be flexible, relevant, and connected to real-life issues. While meeting academic standards, it should also create opportunities for inquiry, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary learning. I value a curriculum that allows students to explore big ideas, local contexts, and global perspectives.
I believe that classrooms can be spaces of joy, agency, and transformation. Over the past months, I have been exploring how children think, learn, question, and express themselves, and this journey has shaped my identity as a teacher.
I see myself as a learner first and a teacher second. Working with diverse students has helped me understand that every child brings their own story, strengths, and struggles into the classroom. My role is to notice these stories, create a safe environment, and design learning experiences that help each learner feel seen, valued, and capable.
I am particularly interested in student-centred, inquiry-based learning where learners construct understanding through exploration, collaboration, and reflection. I enjoy integrating real-life contexts, technology, and creative tasks so that learning feels meaningful and connected to the world beyond the textbook.
As I grow as an educator, I aim to remain reflective, open to feedback, and committed to continuous professional development. I want my students to remember me not only as a teacher who taught concepts, but as someone who listened, encouraged, and believed in their potential.
