In the spring of the 2023-24 semester, the Green Campus Club successfully launched the Food Recovery Initiative. This project was a result of concern from a growing food waste issue on the Beckman campus. Previously, uneaten cafeteria food (especially mandatory fruit and vegetable servings) constantly filled trash cans and littered the ground. By providing a designated bin for unwanted cafeteria food, the Green Campus Club combatted this environmental issue and increased food waste awareness on campus, encouraging student participation.
