An Evening with Erinma Bell
Erinma Bell converses with inspirational Black women leaders. In 2003, she co-founded CARISMA charity offering alternatives to gang crime, achieving 92% decrease in Manchester gun crime. A sculpture made from 50 recycled guns honors her work - first female statue in Town Hall in 150 years.

Pan-African Organising In Manchester
Manchester City Council is marking this special month with a host of events. Our Inclusion and Engagement Team Teams will honour the 80th anniversary of the Fifth Pan-African Congress, a landmark meeting for anti-colonial movements both in Manchester and Africa.
Local historian Parise Carmicheal-Murphy will be joined by the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah RACE Centre team for a deep dive talk and archive exploration, highlighting the impact the conference has had on racial equality today.
