Impact Overview

Freedom School is designed to strengthen reading skills while nurturing confidence, leadership, and a love of learning. Through culturally responsive curriculum, caring staff, and strong family partnerships, scholars experience meaningful academic and social growth each summer.

Reading Growth Results

During the most recent Freedom School summer program, 96.6% of scholars across our sites maintained or improved their reading levels as measured by pre- and post-program assessments. These results exceed national program averages and reflect the effectiveness of our literacy-focused model.

Why These Results Matter

Summer learning loss disproportionately affects students from historically underserved communities. Freedom School’s focus on daily reading, high-quality literature, and consistent routines helps scholars maintain momentum, build confidence, and return to school prepared for success.
