Dr. Bhavinlal K is a Pavement Expert at SJ-SMEC India, specializing in advanced pavement materials, design, and sustainable infrastructure solutions. He earned his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad in collaboration with the Central Road Research Institute. His doctoral research focused on the development of high-performance bio-asphalt using rice husk ash, contributing to innovative and environmentally sustainable pavement technologies. With a strong foundation in Pavement Engineering and Asphalt Modification, Dr. Bhavinlal brings deep expertise in material characterization, rheology, tribology, performance evaluation, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of advanced asphalt systems.

His professional journey includes key roles such as:

• Reviwer of International Journal of Pavement Research and Technology and the Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering

• Senior Highway Design Engineer at Welspun Enterprises Limited, Delhi

• Project Engineer at National Transportation Planning and Research Centre

• Technical Mentor for the Indian Road Safety Campaign

• Pavement Investigator for the National Highways Authority of India

Academically, he holds an M.Tech in Transportation Engineering and Management from National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, where he graduated as a gold medalist and rank holder. He earned his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from TKM College of Engineering, receiving the Best Student Award.
