I'm a PhD candidate at the University of Oregon's School of Journalism and Communication. I'm interested in cultural, game, fan, and platform studies. Currently I'm researching social media influencers who build community on live streaming platforms such as Twitch to better understand how they manage relationships with their audience of fans as well as the commercial brands that sponsor them.
I research complicated community issues from a variety of critical, cultural, and qualitative perspectives. I've published in peer-reviewed journals, drafted white papers, and have consulted on research projects to help the client drive their decision making processes.
