I am Bharatram Rangarajan, a PhD student at the Einstein Institute of Mathematics. I am being supervised jointly by Prof.Alex Lubotzky and Dr.Ori Parzanchevski. At a research level, I work in the theory of expansion - in groups, graphs, simplicial complexes and vector spaces- and connections and applications to error-correcting codes, pseudorandomness and property testing. I'm broadly interested in geometric group theory, algebraic topology, and representation theory.
Prior to this, I completed my masters degree in computer science at Tel Aviv University under the supervision of Prof. Amnon Ta-Shma. My undergraduate studies, in mathematics and computer science, was done at the Chennai Mathematical Institute, India.
