On the top left inmage we have Padma Subrahmanyam (born 4 February 1943, in Madras), is an Indian classical Bharata Natyam dancer. She is also a research scholar, choreographer, teacher, Indologist and author. She is famous in India as well as abroad; several films and documentaries have been made in her honor by countries such as Japan, Australia and Russia. She is well known as the developer and founder of the dance form Bharata Nrithyam.
On the right we have Mrinalini Sarabhai was one of the best known faces of Indian classical dance. She was an expert dancer in Bharatanatyam and Kathakali, and was also a choreographer and a dance instructor.
On the bottom left image we have Meenakshisundaram Pillai (1869-1954) was a simple man who came to Madras at the invitation of E. Krishna Iyer, founder-secretary of the Music Academy.Meenakshisundaram could play the veena, mridangam, and other instruments. He had a flair for languages and was fluent in Tamil, Sanskrit, Telugu and Malayalam. He also had deep knowledge of the Natya Shastra.
